Jewish Kosher Chef – Hannah Sattler
Hannah grew up surrounded by a close knit extended family in Milwaukee, starting out on the west side, moving to the north shore at age 7. Attended Milwaukee Jewish Day School, Camp Interlaken JCC, and was an active member of Wisconsin Region B’nai B’rith Youth Organization. Graduated from the University of Wisconsin.
She learned to enjoy, explore and experience food by watching her grandparents, Sy and Bunny Dolnick cook in the kitchen. He loved to cook Asian food and really loved challenging himself, joking that a meal was not a meal unless he used his wok to cook it. Bunny, was great at cooking all traditional food and making sure there were always treats for all the grandkids, especially the frozen chocolate covered bananas and freezing 20-30 pints of blueberries and encouraging the kids to eat them frozen, as long as she had enough left to bake with.
Hannah starting running the Congregation Beth Isreal Ner Tamid’s Kitchen as a volunteer in 2009. Realizing her passion and talents for cooking, Hannah formed Kehillah Catering at in 2013, and slowing grew it into a catering business for the synagogue community.
Now Hannah’s Kitchen gives her a way to share her love for food and Judaism with the community and be a part of so many people’s lives. Allows Hannah to really be creative and explore food and use her love and knowledge of Judaism and its traditions. Hannah’s Kitchen is a business born of love of community and good food. The goal of Hannah’s Kitchen is to take Home Style food and elevate it to a professional level.
